If you are only 17 - then you are not legally able to obtain a credit card. One of the bank%26#039;s requirements on the website you pointed us to indicates that borrowers must be 18 to obtain their card. If you did not tell the truth about your age to obtain the card, you have committed the crime of bank fraud which is punishable.

That said, as long as you don%26#039;t default, they%26#039;re not going to even look at it (and really, Bank of America isn%26#039;t going to look at a $600 balance anyway).

That all said, yes it does look like a decent offer for a first time credit card. Just be sure that you don%26#039;t let yourself slide into debt using it. Do what you say --- use it only for a REAL emergency.

Instead of a credit card, save up 3-6 months worth of expenses as an emergency fund. When a real emergency hits, you don%26#039;t want the added stress of debt. When you are debt free and have an emergency fund, you have a lot more options during an emergency.
